Project Manager-PMO

Rate:$100-110,000 CDN
The successful candidate will be responsible for: accurately assessing and determining customer business requirements and gaps associated with Client product; forecasting resource requirements to complete the project: Development, TA and QA; developing and managing implementation projects, ensuring project is executed according to plan and within budget; managing scope and changes to established project terms of reference as the project progresses; managing customer relationship and customer communications; transition of completed project to the Client Relation and Support groups.
Specific duties will include: managing implementation resources, including development team leads, software engineers, technical analysts, and quality control analysts; determining customer business requirements within scope of projects; developing appropriate partnership relationship with customers and account representatives; leveraging relationships in order to identify additional needs/opportunities and industry issues and feedback to internal organizations; developing project plans using Company processes and monitoring status ensure project is on track; managing financial elements of each project including costs and revenues, billings, etc., and escalate when appropriate; following up on status of development projects, keeping customers informed of progress and where necessary renegotiating deliverables with customer; arranging for customer training and documentation resources for client; educating customer about Company product offerings and referring opportunities for additional sales/services available from Company to sales organization; ensuring successful transition of customer/project to support; ensuring project team time is billable; celebrating successes with project team.
Required skills include:
-Detailed understanding of retail business operation issues is essential
-Ability to manage complex projects employing a self-driven, objective-oriented style is essential
-General understanding of retail IT environment, including software and hardware
-Proven ability to communicate clearly with clients, and present technical concepts as they relate to business issues
-Responsive and proactive in providing high level of client service
-Strong communication and conflict management skills
-Demonstrated ability to learn functionality of the Companyˇ¦s product suite
-Consulting skills/ability to translate customer retail IT/business requirements into business/functional project specifications
-Exposure to documentation, quality, and testing procedures an asset
-Vendor experience with POS or transaction-based applications an asset
-Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Project Management, or related discipline
-3-5 yearsˇ¦ experience managing technical projects
-3-5 yearsˇ¦ experience delivering solutions in a services environment (consulting or technology vendor)
